Schumi Slides Into Pole Position

Michael Schumacher slid into pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix after bringing out the yellow flags at the end of qualifying while sitting in the P1 slot.

With only seconds left in the session, the German, who had the fastest lap time to his name, came close to crashing into the barriers. However, he managed to prevent himself from crashing.

And prevent the other drivers from taking pole position from him thanks to the yellow flags that followed his slide.

An unhappy Fernando Alonso, who was on a flier at the time, had to settle for second place, while Williams' Mark Webber did well to get his car into third place.
